Description
The primary responsibility of the Quantity Surveyor is to support efforts to profitably grow product sales as a member of the Engineering Services team. Key areas of focus include providing bill of materials and product take-offs for B-Line products such as cable trays, bolted framing, and seismic products. Additional sales support responsibilities include product demonstrations, bid preparation, proposal submittals, documentation development and management and field problem resolution. Acts as support for B-Line's MEPF structural support products, leveraging technical and project management skills to coordinate all activities during the project life cycle Collaborate with engineering, marketing and manufacturing for accurate and timely delivery of product material takeoff. Perform project design tasks, including but not limited to; material and engineering services take-off, quotation, development of scope documents, drawing layouts, submittal creation, release schedules, post order documentation creation, etc. Works with customer & outside sales to develop cost-effective solutions to meet the customer and project needs. Reports potential/actual problems requiring attention and provides alternative solutions when identified for project completion. Acts as the primary representative in technical assistance and project status Other duties as necessary Degree / Diploma/ Certificate in Quantity Surveying/Engineering/ Building/ Construction Management Two (2) years of experience in electrical and or mechanical product estimation Knowledge in MEPF system and non-structural component supports including seismic bracing. Experience in an Oil & Gas, Power, Mining, heavy industrial projects structural design Familiar with different international codes and standards (NEC, IEC, NEMA, ASME, CSA, NFPA, IBC, CBC, UL, FM, plus others) -proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a good understanding of construction processes. Teamplayer, Fast Learner, Critical Thinker and Problem-Solver. Able to work independently and work under pressure Able to multitask and meet deadlines
