Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a crucial member of our organisation, you will play a vital role in managing costs for construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and to the highest standards. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labour, and equipment • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring expenditures throughout the project lifecycle • Analyse and report on project costs, providing regular updates to stakeholders • Prepare and negotiate contracts with contractors and suppliers • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for various project options and value engineering exercises Assess and process interim payments, variations, and final accounts • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure cost-effective project delivery • Identify and mitigate potential financial risks throughout the project • Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors and suppliers • Advise on procurement strategies and contractual matters • Stay current with local construction regulations and market trends in Jeddah and the wider Saudi Arabian context Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field • Professional certification from a recognised institution (e.g., RICS, AACE International) is highly desirable • Minimum of 12 years' experience in quantity surveying or cost consultancy, preferably with exposure to projects in Saudi Arabia • Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members • In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and current market rates in Saudi Arabia Familiarity with Saudi Arabian construction regulations and standards • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Strong organisational skills and capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage • Willingness to travel within Saudi Arabia as required for project site visits Business Line: Transportation Type of contract: Permanent contract Service Line: Urban Transport and Urban Development Region: Middle East and South Asia Job Family: Contract Management Profession: Quantity Surveyor I
