The Finance team has an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor in Salford.
We have a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join Electricity North West based in our Salford Depot.

Responsibilities

OUR ROLE

You will provide commercial and contractual expertise and support to colleagues across the business, supporting the management of projects in line with agreed contractual arrangements and obligations.

To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Delivery and control of pre and post contract management within the business areas ensuring high-level commercial assurance is maintained at all times
  • Support the project delivery teams in all necessary contract administration required
  • Drive business performance through continuous improvements in how we manage commercial contracts and change.
  • Be able to understand drawings, specification, project requirements and communicate this into tender scope documents where required
  • Assist the project delivery team with the build-up of budgets
  • Attend sites regularly to review and monitor progress of the assigned portfolio of projects in order to verify their costs, challenge compensation events / variations and identify early warnings in order to mitigate scope or cost creep.
  • Update and monitor appropriate risk registers
  • Support in the company’s delivery of net zero

To apply for the role, you will have a degree in quantity surveying. You will also require the following:

  • Chartered or working towards (RICS/CIOB/CICES) is desirable but not essential
  • At least 5 years post grad experience working as a quantity surveyor
  • Experience in valuing construction works, negotiation of contract terms and contractual claims, variation management and reporting
  • Proven track record in contract administration, experienced with construction contracts such as but not limited to NEC, MF1 and JCT.
  • Competent in Cost Value Reconciliation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Competent negotiator
  • Full UK driving licenc
