THE PERSON

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction sector
  • Understands NEC contracts (required)
  • Has strong estimating and financial management skills
  • Is highly organised and able to manage multiple projects
  • Is confident communicating with clients, suppliers, and team members
  • Has excellent Excel and general IT skills
  • Holds a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Maintains high professional standards and works well under pressure

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a friendly, growing team? Do you have a solid background in cost estimation, contract management, and delivering construction projects?
We’re looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to support our Strategic Works Division. This role focuses primarily on architectural fit-out projects within MOD sites. You’ll be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of the projects, from early-stage estimating through to cost control and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Estimating project costs, preparing accurate forecasts and budgets
  • Preparing, reviewing, and administering contract documentation
  • Managing subcontractor selection, pricing, and documentation
  • Monitoring project cash flow, cost reporting and financial progress
  • Conducting risk assessments and cost-risk analysis
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant construction legislation
  • Supporting procurement activities, including negotiating with suppliers
  • Attending site visits and liaising with project stakeholders
