You’ll prepare detailed construction estimates, manage project budgets and forecasting, and accurately assess and value variations, helping us deliver profitable projects while protecting margins and supporting the long‑term success of Fulton Hogan. Mō te tūranga | About the role \ As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of construction projects at Fulton Hogan. This is a hands‑on role working across office and site environments, closely alongside Project Managers and Department Managers. You’ll be responsible for estimating, cost control, forecasting, and managing variations to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably. Your work directly protects project margins, supports good decision‑making, and contributes to the long‑term success of the business while living our values every day. Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Prepare detailed construction estimates, budgets, and cost forecasts that accurately reflect scope, risk, and market conditions Coordinate with Project Managers and Department Managers to establish and maintain the correct cost base across projects Assess and submit variations accurately and on time, ensuring contractual obligations are met and margins are protected Monitor and report project financial performance, including costs‑to‑complete, to identify risks and opportunities early Support project delivery by administering subcontractor agreements, progress claims, and purchase orders while maintaining disciplined cost control Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction (BE, BCon(QS) or similar) Proven industry experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within civil or construction projects Strong working knowledge of NZS391X suite of contracts and commercial contract administration Demonstrated capability in estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑to‑complete reporting Experience managing variations and subcontractor commercial arrangements accurately and on time Full Class 1 Driver Licence and ability to work across site and office environments Clear communicator and team player who puts safety first and takes pride in delivering good work He pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.
