OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial consultancy team, primarily responsible for certifying interim valuations on a range of groundworks projects. The successful candidate will also support take-offs and tender preparation, playing a vital role in ensuring continued commercial and operational success for our valued clients.
This is a key role covering the Central Belt of Scotland, offering flexible working arrangements, home working, and a competitive benefits package tailored to the ideal candidate.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a groundworks, civils, or housebuilding environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of interim valuations, take-offs, and tendering.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft suite of software. Working knowledge of AutoCad would be desirable.
  • Excellent numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in a related field.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse, validate and certify interim valuations prepared by contractors for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
  • Liaise with site teams, clients, and commercial staff to ensure accurate valuations that ensure best value is achieved for clients.
  • Assist with quantifying works, conducting take-offs from drawings and specifications.
  • Support the tendering process, including compiling bid documentation and bills of quantities.
  • Provide contractual and commercial advice as required.
  • Contribute to the preparation of final accounts and negotiation of variations.
