Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities Study and analyze client tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs. Prepare detailed cost estimates for design and build, EPC, or modular projects. Obtain and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and competitiveness Develop unit rates for labor, materials, and equipment based on current market rates. Maintain a cost database for historical benchmarking and future references. Ensure compliance with industry-standard measurement methods (e.g., SMM7, CESMM, NRM). Provide alternative material or construction solutions to optimize cost efficiency. Participate in design development meetings to align with budget and buildability. Highlight commercial and technical risks in tenders and propose mitigation strategies. Conduct sensitivity analyses for high-value packages or critical components. Collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, and design teams to ensure alignment. Maintain proper documentation for audit and post-tender review purposes. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university. Professional qualifications or certification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., IQSSL, RICS, AIQS) will be an added advantage. Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in a pre-contract or tendering role within the construction, modular construction, or engineering industry. Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings Strong knowledge of pre-contract and tendering processes.
