JOB HIGHLIGHTS

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial, commercial, or data-centre projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical works
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and adaptability
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and demonstrate initiative and commitment

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, a well-established engineering firm in Singapore specializing in high-tech factory and commercial projects, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor (M&E) . The company is recognized for its commitment to quality, environmental health & safety, and professional development, holding ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18001 certifications. This role is ideal for individuals with expertise in industrial, commercial, or data-centre projects, capable of managing project costs, tendering, contract administration, and value engineering to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and associated costs
  • Perform quantity take-offs for materials and labour for MEP installations
  • Collaborate with project teams for accurate quantity assessments
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor cost variations, and recommend cost-saving measures
  • Assist in preparing tender documents and participate in procurement processes
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for competitiveness and compliance
  • Administer and manage contracts for MEP works, including variations, claims, and disputes
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and implement value engineering solutions
  • Identify potential cost and contract risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Generate regular cost reports and provide analysis and recommendations
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders; attend project meetings
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and MEP standards
  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance projects and other ad-hoc duties as assigned
