Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Report To: Facilities Manaager Department: Facilities Management Location: Kuala Lumpur Job Type: Full Time Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially-minded Quantity Surveyor to join our project management team. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. Your goal is to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation & Planning: Prepare initial cost estimates, feasibility studies, and detailed budgets for civil engineering or building projects. Tendering & Procurement: Manage the procurement process,including preparing tender and contract documents (e.g., Bills of Quantities) and evaluating subcontractor bids. Contract Management: Administer various forms of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and advise on legal or contractual requirements. Valuations: Conduct site visits to assess progress and certify payments for subcontractors and suppliers. Variation Management: Identify, price, and negotiate "variations" (changes to the original project scope). Cost Control: Perform regular cost-value reconciliations (CVR) and prepare monthly financial reports for stakeholders. Final Accounts: Negotiate and settle final accounts at the completion of a project. Qualifications & Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Certification: Membership in a professional body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or AIQS is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in BIM (Building Information Modeling) and measurement software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or WinQS).
