JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that the project is completed within its projected budget. This role requires a strong understanding of cost control methods and the ability to provide accurate financial forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.

REQUIREMENTS

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of cost control methodologies and practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Prepare and analyse cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor project expenditures, identifying any potential cost overruns and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project requirements and develop comprehensive budgets.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with financial plans.
• Prepare tender documents, contracts, and agreements, ensuring all terms are clear and fair.
• Provide advice on procurement strategies and assist in the selection of contractors and suppliers.
• Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions related to projects for auditing purposes.
• Liaise with clients to provide updates on project costs and financial status, fostering strong relationships throughout the project duration.
