QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Hudayriat West, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Quantity Surveyor to join our team! In this role you will get to perform standard quantity surveying activities typical to the engineering and construction industry. The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be an integral part of the core project team in the field and will be providing all necessary assistance to the construction supervision team with respect to all financial aspects and contractual matters related to the project. He / she will participate in the review and approval of interim payments, project variations and other financial and contractual matters.
WHAT REQUIRED SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or civil engineering with 8 years demonstrable experience in Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration on large infrastructure projects preferably in UAE.
- Must have a sound knowledge and understanding about post contract administration.
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
- Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
- Must be available in UAE

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Resident Engineer in all matters relating to the financial and contractual aspects of the project.
- Responsible for accurately measuring and pricing using Contract drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities.
- Advise the Resident Engineer on measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities.
- Undertake and complete all post-contract Quantity Surveying functions such as handling of interim and final payments, variations, commercial and contractual correspondence, cash flows, claims etc.
- Advise on contractual matters.
- Ensure completeness and validity of contractual requirements.
- Advice on Contractor’s resource allocation.
- Maintain and streamline all cost and quantity records.
- Audit payments to Contractors.
- Participate, record and assist in the preparation of the minutes of the progress and commercial meetings.
- Ensure prompt submittal and completeness of valuations.
- Check and record measure of work done.
- Monitor contracts final cost estimate.
- Maintain expenditure records.
- Prepare financial statements for monthly report.
- Evaluate and prepare recommendation of entitlement of Contractors claims.
- Evaluate and prepare recommendations of Variations and Dayworks.
- Prepare final account with all supporting documentation.
- Perform other duties associated with this position as may be appropriate.
