Job Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor - Rail to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing costs, contracts, and project documentation for rail infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven track record in quantity surveying within the rail or transportation sector. You will work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate cost control and efficient project delivery. Prepare and analyze bills of quantities (BoQ) for rail infrastructure projects with precision and accuracy Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets based on project specifications and industry standards Monitor and control project costs throughout all phases of construction and implementation Conduct regular cost analysis and variance reporting to identify potential savings and cost overruns Manage contract documentation, including variations, claims, and change orders Perform quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and site surveys Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and specifications Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for stakeholder review and approval Analyze supplier quotations and negotiate pricing to optimize project value Maintain organized records of all project documentation and cost-related data Conduct site inspections and measurements to verify quantities and specifications Support value engineering initiatives to improve project efficiency and cost-effectiveness Ensure all quantity surveying work adheres to rail industry standards and Saudi Arabian regulations Qualifications Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 10 years in the rail industry Demonstrated expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control Strong proficiency with quantity surveying software and tools Solid understanding of bill of quantities preparation and contract administration Knowledge of rail infrastructure projects and transportation construction standards Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software Familiarity with Saudi Arabian construction regulations and local industry practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams Organized and efficient approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports and documentation Experience with cost control, value engineering, and project optimization Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in construction Preferred: Experience with major rail or transportation infrastructure projects in the Middle East region Preferred: Advanced proficiency in specialized quantity surveying software platforms Business Line: Transportation Type of contract: Permanent contract Service Line: Urban Transport and Urban Development Region: Middle East and South Asia Job Family: Contract Management Profession: Quantity Surveyor I
