Cidon are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our existing team, working on groundworks and reinforced concrete structures packages in the building and civil engineering sectors.
Having a solid reputation and in the industry for over 20 years, our core business specialises in reinforced concrete, building and civil engineering structures throughout the UK. Due to an increase in workload, we have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team, based from our Regional Office in Skelmersdale.
Based within our commercial department, you will be working on projects varying in value from £5m to £30m. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to take the commercial lead on 2-3 concurrent projects, managing cost variations throughout, as well as applying your expertise in contractual control.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, will be responsible for:

  • Issuing subcontract enquiries and orders
  • Establishing a monitoring regime on subcontractor accounts
  • Identifying and measuring changes / delays to works
  • Assist with creating contract budgets and contract reporting
  • Cost and value reconciliations
  • Advising / controlling commercial aspects of site activities
  • Establishing buying targets / credit limits
  • Cash flow forecasts
  • Gather financial information for CVR reporting - collating information from Sage, and or finer details from invoices.
  • Assisting the estimating department with take-offs, ‘first principle’ rate build ups and reconciling on site labour outputs
  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of project(s) contractual and commercial requirements
  • Demonstrating confidence and expertise, with minimal input from the Directors in dispute resolution and risk, and opportunity profiling
  • Form productive relationships with our site and management teams
  • Promote and maintain strong relationships with clients to agree valuations and maintain throughout the project to agree the final account

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Groundworks and / or reinforced concrete structures is essential
  • Experience in the management of live concurrent projects up to £30m
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work on own initiative
