· Full-Time (Monday – Friday)
· £45 - 50K per annum + package

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with expertise in the commercial and industrial sectors. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, managing project costs, overseeing procurement, and handling contract administration.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Membership in a recognised professional body (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); knowledge of cost management software (e.g., CostX, Asta Project, Primavera) is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with contract law (JCT, NEC3, NEC4).
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites if required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates from tender to completion, including BOQs and quantity take-offs.
  • Analyse project documentation, monitor budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including preparing tender documents, selecting contractors, and negotiating contracts.
  • Source materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services while building strong relationships and negotiating favourable terms.
  • Ensure contract compliance, manage variations, claims, and resolve disputes.
  • Advise on contract performance while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks and implement value engineering strategies.
  • Deliver regular financial reports detailing project costs, forecasts, and variances.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including BOQs, cost reports, and final accounts.
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to align project goals and deliverables.
