Job Description The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts. The role ensures that projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality and compliance with contractual and legal standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for construction projects Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project efficiency Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts Manage variations, claims, and final accounts Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations Assess and certify interim and final payments Identify and manage project risks related to cost and procurement Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field Proven experience in construction cost management or surveying Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Excel, or similar tools) Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities Attention to detail and strong organisational skills Preferred Qualifications Membership or working towards membership with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Experience with large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects Knowledge of contract forms such as JCT or NEC Additional Information Role Type: Permanent, Full-time
