YOUR MISSION

As a Quantum Algorithms Engineer (PDEs) at planqc, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing quantum algorithms for partial differential equations, with impactful applications in fluid dynamics and battery technology. Working closely with a passionate, multidisciplinary team, you will push the boundaries of current classical methods by creating quantum and quantum-inspired algorithms that deliver real-world performance gains.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, or an MSc with a strong focus on quantum computing
  • Expertise in quantum physics and quantum computing theory
  • Proven hands-on experience with Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, and collaborative mindset
  • Valid work permit for Germany or the EU; ideally based in Munich or open to relocation
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience working in an agile (Scrum) environment.
  • Experience with tensor networks
  • Familiarity with battery models

ABOUT US

At planqc, we harness the laws of quantum mechanics to build revolutionary computing systems. Our quantum computers store information in individual atoms — nature’s perfect qubits — and process it through scalable arrays manipulated by precisely controlled laser pulses. This groundbreaking technology is paving the way of redifining the future of computation but also enabling transformative applications across industries.
Our roots lie in decades of international research on neutral-atom quantum technologies. Building on the technology used in the world’s best atomic clocks combined with advanced quantum gas microscopes, and high-speed Rydberg gates, we’ve built a foundation for innovation that’s unmatched.
At the heart of planqc is a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Whether you’re a quantum physicist, software engineer, or operations expert, you’ll find a place here to grow, contribute, and thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and test quantum and quantum-inspired algorithms for solving partial differential equations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and project partners to ensure milestones are delivered on time
  • Share expertise, and collaborate effectively within the team and project partners
  • Stay up to date on advances in quantum algorithms and neutral-atom quantum computing
