Responsibilities

OVERVIEW:

Keysight Technologies’ Quantum Engineering Solutions (QES) division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantum Software Engineer to join our R&D team. QES delivers world-leading solutions in the dynamic and fast-evolving quantum computing space.
In this role, you’ll work on cutting-edge quantum control software alongside a cross-disciplinary team of quantum physicists, software developers, and RF/uW measurement engineers. You’ll help develop solutions that control complex instrumentation (AWGs, digitizers, network analyzers) to perform quantum measurements, while playing a key role in shaping the customer experience and advancing experimental quantum technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • BS degree and 2+years of experience required; with MS/PhD, we will consider recent grads with appropriate academia, projects and/or post doc experience
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages: C#, C++, Python.
  • Experience debugging complex systems involving both hardware and software components.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing platforms—particularly superconducting, spin, or NV center qubits—and quantum information/simulation applications.
  • Operational experience with lab instrumentation (AWGs, digitizers, DC sources); PXI platform experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve system integration issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive, continuous-learning mindset.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, and comfortable operating in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently deliver high-quality software products, meeting commitments, and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to address complex challenges in quantum computing through software solutions and system-level integration.
  • Work in our quantum SDK and firmware teams to shape product direction through direct engagement with customer feedback and use of Keysight’s quantum facilities.
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain software components that support quantum control systems and instrumentation workflows.
  • Contribute to internal and customer-driven research initiatives to stay at the forefront of experimental quantum computing.
  • Write and maintain use case and system-level tests to ensure robust software performance.
