Description
ECS is seeking a Quantum Science, Engineering, and Technical Advisory (SETA) to work in our Arlington, VA office.  Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding.   ECS seeks a Technical Science, Engineering, and Technical Advisory (SETA) candidates to provide onsite support to DARPA's Microsystems Technology Office (MTO). MTO is a unique technical office whose core mission is to develop high-performance intelligent microsystem and next-generation components to ensure U.S. dominance in the areas of Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Directed Energy (DE). The effectiveness, survivability, and lethality of these systems depend critically on the microsystems contained inside.   This specific role will support a new quantum initiative where the selected candidate will help drive advancements in quantum science research, including quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communications, for the design and generation of technologies for the Department of Defense.    Additional Responsibilities: * Collaborate with the Government Program Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet the Department of Defense's requirements. * Participate in activities with project managers to assist with monitoring and evaluating performer team's products. * Conduct continuous quality checks of work products and reports to ensure compliance with contract requirements. * Work with the program management team to prevent and mitigate quality control issues and ensure the continuity of products and services. * Provide technical expertise and support to the team in the areas of quantum science research, including quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communications. * Develop and maintain relationships with the Department of Defense's stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of their requirements and expectations. * Collaborate with the team to design and generate technologies that meet the Department of Defense's needs, including quantum-based solutions. Qualifications * Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a DoD Secret clearance * PhD (Masters with additional years of work experience) in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or similar * 5+ years of experience with research and computing, specifically in quantum * Ability to communicate effectively with excellent oral and written skills. * Ability to learn new subjects and gain rapid insights into current and next-generation research topics, preferably with hands-on leadership of research programs at the performer level in multidisciplinary fields.
