  • Concrete and aggregate industry experience with a sound understanding of quarry management.
  • Certificate 4 (minimum) in Surface Extractive Industries
  • Experience with sales / customer service responsibilities (preferred)
  • Proven ability to work independently within an established structure
  • Sound financial management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • NSW Driver’s License
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Reporting to the General Manager, Concrete & Aggregates (NSW), the Quarry Operations Manager is a key member of our senior management team in NSW, responsible for overseeing all aspects of our quarry business.
This role encompasses Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management, sales, production control, cost management, quality assurance, process enhancements, and leadership and development of our staff.
The Quarry Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with legal regulations, safety standards, and optimizing production to exceed customer expectations.

This role is based in Silverwater, however frequent travel to various site locations will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and maintain operations cost in line with the budget.
  • Drive a compelling work health and safety culture to ensure adherence with WHS regulations and requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales, logistics, and technical teams for concrete and quarries to enhance customer value and business performance.
  • Manage workforce capability through recruitment, training, and discipline, ensuring compliance with relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and contracts.
  • Ensure quarry team operations comply with relevant legislations.
  • Maintain product quality in alignment with specified standards and customer expectations.
  • Oversee plant capacities, outputs, availability, and replacement plans.
  • Foster a culture of continuous operational improvement across the business.
