The Quotations Specialist role plays a key role in preparing accurate, competitive quotes by reviewing RFQs, drawings, and specifications, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and supporting a smooth transition from quoting to project execution. This role partners closely with outside sales, customers, and project teams to clarify scope, manage revisions, follow up on open quotes, and support sales goals while maintaining strong margins and high customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Include: Prepare accurate, competitive quotations by reviewing RFQs, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to obtain pricing, availability, and lead times Collaborate with customers, sales, and project teams to clarify scope, provide updates, and support smooth handoffs from quote to project execution Revise and update quotes to reflect scope changes, pricing adjustments, and customer needs Assist with awarded project setup, kickoff, and transition into the job management system Track and follow up on open quotes, support sales efforts, and help resolve quoting or project issues Maintain organized records of quotes, pricing, and related communications Stay current on products, vendor offerings, and industry trends through ongoing training Qualifications Education Highschool diploma or GED Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred Experience and/or Training 3–5 years of experience in quotations, estimating, inside sales, or a related role within electrical, lighting, plumbing, construction supply, or distribution industries Experience reading and interpreting project specifications, blueprints, drawings, and RFQs, with demonstrated ability to develop accurate, detailed quotations Hands-on experience coordinating with vendors/manufacturers to obtain pricing, lead times, and product availability, and following up on quotes Proficiency using job management, quoting, and office software systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Excel, project management platforms) Demonstrated experience managing multiple bids, deadlines, and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clarify customer needs, and provide professional written and verbal updates Customer service experience supporting the full inquiry-to-quote or quote-to-close cycle, including handling questions, addressing concerns, and resolving issues Proven problem-solving and decision-making ability, with experience managing scope changes, revisions, and pricing adjustments Ability to work independently with strong self-management skills, including time management, organization, and follow-through Experience maintaining organized documentation, including quote history, pricing records, bid lists, and project correspondence 5+ years in electrical distribution or related experience preferred We are committed to providing salary ranges for open positions.
