Quotation Specialist prepares and manages detailed price quotes for products or services, analyzing customer requirements, market conditions, and company pricing strategies to ensure accuracy and competitiveness. Key responsibilities include coordinating with sales and other internal departments, soliciting quotes from suppliers, reviewing bid packages, and maintaining accurate pricing.
Essential skills for the role are strong analytical and communication abilities, keen attention to detail, negotiation skills, and familiarity with quoting software and industry-specific knowledge. The position will create quotes and request purchase order updates for new and RMA products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quote Preparation:

Review customer inquiries, analyze requirements, and create accurate, competitive price quotations based on company guidelines and market factors.

  • Coordination:

Work closely with sales teams, suppliers, and internal departments (like product development and customer service) to gather information and ensure quotes are precise and aligned with client needs.

  • Supplier Interaction:

Solicit and negotiate pricing from suppliers to ensure they are accurate, comprehensive, and received within required timeframes.

  • Cost Analysis:

Analyze costs, including material and labor, to ensure quotes are profitable while remaining competitive.

  • Bid Package Review:

Examine bid requirements and identify product options that meet customer plans and specifications while supporting company goals.

  • Tracking and Follow-Up:

Track quoting opportunities, follow up on quotes, and maintain records of both wins and losses.

  • Knowledge Maintenance:

Stay updated on product knowledge and market trends to provide informed and accurate pricing.
