R&D B Person – Assaria Great Plains Mfg is looking for an R&D B Person for its facility in Assaria, KS. This position will fabricate, machine, weld, assemble and test components of experimental products. This position works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Build and repair basic weld fixtures for production * Build basic prototypes for the product development team * Assemble prototypes as needed * Read, interpret and work from engineering prints * Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment * Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment Preferred Skills and Qualifications: * Ability to weld and operate a cutting torch or hand-held plasma torch * Ability to operate fabrication equipment to include HAAS, lathe, plasma torch, saw and vertical mill – some training will be provided * Forklift license or the ability to obtain one * Ability to read blueprints and standard measuring devices * Strong mechanical aptitude * Supply necessary hand tools, including some precision tools * Basic computer skills helpful At Great Plains Manufacturing, our people make the difference, making our company a great place to work and grow.
