QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

· Post-Secondary degree in Chemistry
· 5+ years of formulation experience in epoxy and urethane 2k and 1k systems
· Proven commercialization of development products
· PPE knowledge and experience
· Demonstrates strong Health & Safety practices in all facets of work
· Industry knowledge and/or experience an asset
· Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
· Highly organized and able to multi-task and prioritize in busy working environment
· Detail-oriented with the ability to make educated cost-efficient decisions quickly

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The R&D Chemist is responsible for the formulation of new products as per customer specifications and market demand. They will provide technical sales support and make product recommendations that balance superior quality and cost effectiveness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conduct research on assigned projects by the Technical Director.
· Develop and/or modify formulations according to customer and/or sales requests as approved by the Technical Director.
· Evaluate vendors for new and existing raw materials.
· Monitor the scale up and transfer of new products from experimental to commercial phase.
· Collaborate with the lab team to complete project goals on time and on budget.
· Provide technical support to sales and customers on new & current Crosslink products, by providing product recommendations, participating in customer meetings, and when deemed necessary, attending customer visits and product trials.
· Aid in the creation and entry of new products and systems via CMS, CRM, and the data sheets program
· Provide back-up and technical support to Quality Assurance.
· Advise on lab specific health and safety concerns.
· Remain up to date with new technology, products, and latest innovations.
· Travel to customers, shows, and conferences as required.
· Keep all outgoing safety data sheets up to date.
· Activities to support the business, as instructed by the Technical Director or CEO.
