JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Product Engineering, as R&D Director you play a key role as a strategic technical advisor. You ensure that every product developed is functional, manufacturable, optimized and innovative. You supervise a team of engineers and technicians, guide decisions and validate the technical feasibility of projects. You seek to improve methods, products and processes to ensure the achievement of the company’s engineering objectives for all of Metaltech-Omega’s product lines.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Spoken and written languages (advanced level): French and English;

TECHNICAL AND STRATEGIC SKILLS

  • Analytical and business acumen with the ability to make sound technical decisions and optimize costs.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to an engineering team.
  • Organizational skills, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage priorities, adapt to change, and deliver results on time.

LEADERSHIP AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  • Mobilizing leadership: ability to delegate, take charge and optimize resources to position the team for success.
  • Autonomy, team spirit and sense of responsibility.

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or Catia computer-aided design software.
