This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an R&D Engineer 2 in the United States. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer to lead the design and development of innovative medical devices and improvements to existing products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including quality, regulatory, and production to ensure projects meet technical and clinical requirements. The position emphasizes problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration to deliver high-quality solutions. You will contribute to all phases of product development, from concept to validation, and have the opportunity to influence design strategies and process improvements. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, highly technical environment that values innovation, quality, and patient safety. \n Accountabilities: Lead project workstreams for new device development and design improvements with minimal supervision. Apply engineering problem-solving techniques and data analysis to resolve challenges during product development. Write and maintain protocols, reports, SOPs, and other technical documents according to Good Documentation Practices and ISO standards. Design, develop, and validate test methods to meet design requirements. Collaborate with quality, regulatory, engineering, and production teams to meet project objectives. Engage with internal and external customers to obtain design requirements and feedback on prototypes. Evaluate product design for manufacturability and recommend design or process improvements. Participate in the selection, development, and testing of tools, fixtures, machinery, and equipment used in manufacturing. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 4–6 years of experience designing or modifying medical devices or implants. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective negotiation and collaboration skills. Competency in ERP software and proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel. Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies. Ability to lift/move objects up to 25 pounds and perform fine manipulation tasks frequently. Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
