Description
Company Description Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and soon a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors. In 2020, Bosch Malaysia generated consolidated sales of RM 518.4 million (108.1 million euros), and currently employs more than 4,000 associates. PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities. Bosch in Malaysia is a part of the Bosch Group, a leading global supplier of technology and services. The Bosch Group’s strategic objective is to deliver innovations for a connected life. Bosch improves quality of life worldwide with products and services that are innovative and spark enthusiasm. In short, Bosch creates technology that is “Invented for life”. Job Description Role Overview This role is not about running tests. It is about understanding what the data means, why it behaves that way, and how to measure it better. You will work at the intersection of physics, electronics, and software, developing measurement solutions and extracting insight from complex data to support MEMS sensor development and production. This role is for you if you are comfortable writing code, interpreting data, and critically questioning measurement results. Key Responsibilities Characterization & Data Analysis Analyze large, datasets from MEMS characterisation and production Identify correlations, drifts, and non-obvious effects across multiple parameters Separate real physical effects from measurement artefacts Develop automated analysis workflows (Python / C# / similar) Measurement Technology Development Design, build, and improve lab measurement setups (electrical, thermal, mechanical domains) Define measurement strategies for new product concepts and production methods Debug and extend internally developed measurement software (C++ / C#) Improve measurement robustness, repeatability, and throughput Root Cause & Physical Understanding Drive root-cause analysis using data, experiments, and physical reasoning Work closely with product and process engineers to explain observed behavior Challenge unclear or inconsistent results Method Validation & Lab Enablement Validate new test methods before production introduction Define limitations, accuracy, and uncertainty of measurement methods Document and standardize solutions for cross-site usage Collaboration Work across disciplines: device physics, electronics, software, and production Collaborate with international teams and contribute to global MT alignment Qualifications Required Qualifications Bsc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or similar Solid foundation in physics, electronics, signal behavior Strong programming skills (C/C++/C# or Python) Experience working with real measurement data What We Expect You to Be Comfortable With Writing code to analyze and process measurement data Reading schematics and understanding measurement hardware Working with imperfect, noisy, real-world data Debugging both software and measurement setups Thinking in terms of cause–effect, not just results Nice to Have Experience with MEMS sensors or inertial measurement systems Lab/fab environment experience Knowledge of statistics (DOE, correlation analysis, uncertainty) Experience with automated test systems What You Get Real ownership of measurement solutions and data interpretation Exposure to complex, multidisciplinary engineering problems Opportunity to shape how measurements are done, not just execute them Success in This Role Looks Like You identify affects others overlook Your measurement setups produce trusted, reproducible data You can explain why something happens, not just show that it does Your code and methods are reused by others Additional Information Leave Entitlement e.g: Annual Leave, Medical Leave and etc Company Insurances and etc Legal Entity: Robert Bosch Semiconductor Penang Sdn Bhd
Responsibilities
You will develop measurement solutions and automated analysis workflows to extract insights from complex MEMS sensor data. Additionally, you will design and improve lab measurement setups while driving root-cause analysis through physical reasoning and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
