KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Act as a safety leader and promote safety culture by positively communicating safety concerns to co-workers, leaders, visitors.
  • Act as subject-matter expert on R&D’s Value Engineering program; develop and support training on best practices to enhance company performance.
  • Manage global Value Engineering (VE) portfolio reporting.
  • Facilitate and/or support ideation sessions to support Global and regional VE goals.
  • Analyze product specification data using SQL and Python
  • Leverage understanding of Amcor’s products and manufacturing processes, together with data analysis skills to identify new opportunities for cost reduction and structure simplification.
  • Develop the business case and scope of work for global or regional opportunities with BG R&D Engineers
  • Influence global strategy for Newton Analytics platform and SMS.
  • Newton Analytics tools that would support VE ideation and new project scoping.
  • Newton Analytics tools or SMS enhancements that would improve the product development process.
  • Provide SMS team with feedback on SMS maturity level in BG R&D teams and support training to address gaps.
  • Lead development/enhancement of Newton tools for product development and VE, using SQL and/or Python.
  • Use understanding of cross-functional connectivity of business processes to improve performance across the organization.
    Collaborate with Core R&D Materials category managers to draft and scope project proposals that drive global materials characterization opportunities and cost optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in relevant field, such as: Materials, Polymers, or Chemical Engineering
  • 5-8+ years technical experience in an R&D or Process role
  • Experience leading cost and/or complexity reduction projects with demonstrated sustained results
  • Demonstrated ability applying tools within Project Management, Design of Experiment, Design for Lean Six Sigma and
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing process and materials data, preferably using SQL and Python

Responsibilities

The Global Core R&D Materials team works to create, enhance, standardize and simplify the use of raw materials across the Amcor Flexible enterprise. These activities enable Amcor to innovate new solutions, optimize cost/performance of existing designs to achieve short- and long-term results. The team partners with R&D and Business stakeholders to develop a raw material evaluation strategy that maximizes Amcor supply continuity, minimizes cost structure and ensures manufacturability to delight our customers and enhance Amcor’s global capabilities.
