Our North American Semiconductor group is searching for an experienced R&D Engineer—Liquid & Vaporization to design and conduct experiments involving semiconductor process chemistry—focusing on liquids, gases, and vapors—to determine thermophysical and transport properties, as well as reaction and dissociation kinetics. YOU WILL BRING THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (or NIST chemical webbook).
  • Basic knowledge of various gas/liquid analytical methods (NIR, FTIR, GC/MS, RGA).
  • Analytical test method preparation, sampling and flow dilution/calibration techniques, lab equipment setup experience and PC literacy as typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
  • Define methods, set up equipment, and conduct experiments of semiconductor process chemistry liquids/gases/vapors for thermophysical and transport property determination, and reaction/disassociation kinetics/chemistry.
  • Provide technical support, technical sales demonstrations, and QA of equipment to support the marketing of these experiments for customers and support of HORIBA products and services related to semiconductor fluid/chemistry delivery, or similar industries like fiber optics and thin film coatings.
  • Prepare technical reports for use by engineering or management personnel for long-range and short-range planning, or for use by sales engineering personnel in sales or technical services activities.
  • May also use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment.
