JOB SUMMARY:

The R&D engineer - will be responsible to research new technology and concepts, developing new product, making design changes, optimizing existing products within the Robuschi portfolio range, with focus on lobes and screw blowers. The goal is to develop solutions that meet customer requirements taking care from the design phase, software simulation, lab test supervision and field test as well. This role requires a deep understanding on rotative machines, technical expertise, ability to work with cross functional, multi-location and multi-cultural teams to ensure projects are accomplished to a high quality, adhering to the standard. This position is calling for an individual ready to challenge himself/herself within an evolving and innovative culture.

TYPICAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Product Development
  • Coordinate with the Engineering Supervisor, Product Management, the innovation and new product development direction within the selected key markets supported by the required level of competitor analysis, market analysis and application information to identify short-, medium- and long-term business opportunities.
  • Define and validate correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones.
  • Manage and coordinate during the design phase all the analysis required through software simulation such as CFD fluid dynamic, FEM, Static FEA thermo-struc analysis and modal analysin to be sure to have already a good level of accuracy before the prototype building.
  • Laboratory
  • Leading with the laboratory team the related activities connected to the new products designed for testing and verification of the new adopted solutions and changes and report the results to the engineering team.
  • Processes
  • Preparation of technical documents/specifications to be applied to the international regulation for the design and dimensioning of equipment (CE/Machine directive, PED, ATEX) including risk assessment and technical dossier.
  • Develops, determines and implements policies, procedures and programs relating to the engineering function.
  • Manufacturing
  • Working with the manufacturing, operations and quality managers, review and monitor quality and process improvements and new product development.
  • Drive continuous effort to resolve all mechanical quality, warranty and field problems expeditiously after launch of products. Support activities and quality processes from a technical perspective
  • Travels to pilot/beta tests, customer and supplier sites, both local and international when required to gain insight into customer applications, audit suppliers, and to provide technical support for sales and service
  • Training
  • Contribuite to share the knowledge within the ENG team with trainings session

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Sound educational background in Mechanical Engineering and/or technical fields. A degree or equivalent education would be beneficial.
  • Experience in Engineering or relevant experience within the Vacuum, Blower or Compressor industries.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, autonomous, diverse and evolving work environment.
