Job Title: R&D Engineer Intern Location: This position is based in our Campbell, California offices, on-site & full-time. What You’ll Do This position works individually and with a team to assist in the development of new product development projects within R&D. Working with one or more engineers, responsible for completion of a variety of tasks as assigned Participate in the design and development of new concepts and test methods Design, plan, and execute laboratory experiments to evaluate feasibility of concepts Review test data against established acceptance criteria and write appropriate test reports Solve technical issues by troubleshooting and determining root cause Perform Verification and Validation testing, which may include protocol development and documentation experimental execution, as well as report writing Support general documentation activities such as proof reading, formatting, and revision Interact with engineers to understand product requirements Participate in brainstorming and suggest new ideas and improvements pertaining to design and process Perform in-vitro/bench tests and document results Document relevant information (i.e. new ideas, test results, build procedure, etc.) in lab notebook according to good laboratory practices or company procedure Assist in the development of new test procedures Assist in bench lab work and on material efforts Perform statistical analysis of test results What You’ll Bring Minimum of 2 years of college-level coursework in an engineering discipline Familiar with R&D equipment (hot boxes, adhesives, soldering, bonding, fuse joining) Good chemical lab skills Knowledge of materials (polymers, metals, chemicals) as related to medical devices Testing, familiarity with: tensile, simulated use testing, or tests related to the project Good written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office products Good interpersonal skills, effective interaction with R&D and other departments What You’ll Gain Imperative Care provides an opportunity for students to work in the dynamic medical device industry and gain valuable hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment, instruments, and facilities.
