Luxium Solutions is seeking a motivated and innovative R&D Engineer to join our research and development team. In this role, you will be responsible in an international environment that requires agility and a strong capacity for innovation. You will report hierarchically to the R&D Manager based in the USA and functionally to the Operations Director of Gières, France.
As we strive to penetrate essential markets such as semiconductors and optical systems, our organization remains at the forefront of innovation in radiation detection and photonics. In order to address the stimulating challenges posed by our growth strategy, we are seeking to strengthen our Research and Development department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering expert support in crystal growth across our five global manufacturing sites as part of exciting new product and process R&D initiatives;
  • Enhancing and innovating crystal growth processes by leveraging your in-depth knowledge of high-temperature processes and the intricate physical-chemical dynamics at play;
  • Taking the reins to lead and autonomously manage R&D projects;
  • Ensuring technical decisions are validated and their industrial viability is solidified by defining and overseeing manufacturing tests and trials;
  • Fostering knowledge preservation by creating comprehensive summary sheets, technical documentation, and training resources for our operators.
  • International assignment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering or PhD degree (in process engineering, material science, chemistry, or generalist fields);
  • Initial experience in R&D preferred;
  • Strong intercultural openness, agility, and adaptability to manage complex projects;
  • Excellent communication skills and persistence in tackling demanding topics.
  • Fluency in french is preferred.
  • Availability to travel for a duration of 8 to 12 months to Gieres, France.
