RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

We are seeking a skilled Engineer on full time permanent basis in Herefordshire. You will be supporting the mechanical design, prototyping, and testing activities within our client’s cutting-edge defence projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing high-precision components and systems, utilising expertise in mechanical design, CNC machining, and prototype assembly.
A strong background in mechanical engineering and manufacturing techniques is essential, with experience in CNC machining for producing and modifying components. Additional knowledge of electrical hardware and wiring would be desirable. The role will involve hands-on testing and validation of prototypes, ensuring performance and reliability in demanding environments.

• Assist in mechanical design and fabrication of defence-related components and systems
• Operate and program CNC machines to manufacture and modify precision parts
• Support prototype assembly, testing, and validation to meet project requirements
• Work closely and collaboratively to troubleshoot and refine mechanical designs
• Provide input on manufacturing processes, material selection, and tolerances
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with specifications
• Support electrical hardware integration, including basic wiring and component assembly (desirable)
