Job Title R&D Engineer – X-ray Detector Verification Job Description Join Philips as an X-ray Detector Verification Engineer in the Imaging Chain Cluster, where you’ll ensure the quality and reliability of X-ray detectors used in advanced imaging systems. This role focuses on verifying detectors according to the V-model, meeting user and business requirements while complying with stringent regulatory standards. Your role: Your work directly supports the delivery of safe, high-performing imaging solutions that enable healthcare professionals to provide superior patient care. You’ll be part of the X-ray components team (~20 engineers) within the Imaging Chain Cluster (ICC) in the Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGT-S) organization at Philips in Best, NL. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in R&D, Lifecycle Management, and external suppliers, as well as Philips businesses (IGT-S, DXR, MoS). Exposure to cutting-edge medical imaging technology, opportunities to contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) and Life Cycle Management (LCM) projects, and growth in regulatory compliance expertise. Other Responsibilities: Verification of flat panel detectors in collaboration with internal businesses and suppliers. Documentation of verification and validation evidence per regulatory standards. Support factory and service organizations in resolving quality issues. Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle technical challenges and drive continuous improvement. You’re the right fit if: 3+ years in verification, validation, or R&D within a high-tech or medical device environment. Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, attention to detail in testing and documentation; experience with X-ray imaging systems or flat panel detectors. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Medical Engineering, or related technical field. Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601, FDA 820 standards. Excellent collaboration and communication skills in multidisciplinary, international teams. Proactive, quality-focused, and eager to contribute to innovation in healthcare technology.
