Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time As a Research and Development Intern, you will support the development and testing of the pump component for a percutaneous mechanical circulatory support system. This role is designed for students or recent graduates interested in medical device innovation, specifically in cardiovascular support technologies. Your responsibilities will include: Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of pump components for percutaneous mechanical circulatory support systems. Support mechanical and systems engineering teams in developing and validating new concepts. Conduct laboratory experiments and mechanical tests following established protocols. Analyze data from test results and draw conclusions Document test results and contribute to design verification and validation reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and quality engineering. Required Qualifications: Must graduate between December 2026 - Spring 2027 Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate level degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th - August 7th OR May 26th - August 14th Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location Preferred Qualifications: Basic understanding of fluid mechanics, pump design, and cardiovascular physiology.
