We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative R&D / Pilot Plant Technician to join our Ingredient Division’s Product Development team. This role plays a critical part in supporting research initiatives and pilot plant operations, contributing to the development and optimization of ingredient-based products. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for driving innovation from concept to commercialization.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to perform precise and accurate laboratory tests
  • Good math skills
  • Good computer skills – word processing and database software
  • Ability to work independently or in small groups
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred

Responsibilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Function as an Research & Development technician when not doing pilot plant work
  • Provide pilot plant relief (breaks, lunch, vacation, sick days, etc.) for existing pilot plant technician
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facility

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately weigh up and blend ingredients for experiments
  • Complete finished product testing and evaluations and record data
  • Assemble and package finished and blended product samples for customer reviews
  • Maintain ingredient inventory information

PILOT PLANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process various dairy products on pilot plant equipment
  • Record processing data for all products processed on pilot plant equipment
  • Assemble, disassemble and clean pilot plant equipment
  • Operate and complete preventative maintenance on pilot plant equipment
  • Clean and sanitize pilot plant facility
