The Vacuum Product Division of Agilent leads the development and manufacturing of Vacuum Products (Turbo Molecular pumps, Ion Pumps, and Primary pumps both wet and dry, and the related vacuum accessories including a Mass Spectrometer Leak Detector). Our goal is to become the supplier of choice for vacuum solutions, services, and consumables, delivering to our customers unmatched quality, innovation, value, and support. The site in Torino hosts both manufacturing and R&D groups with a strong focus on high and ultra-high vacuum applications where we are undiscussed leaders.
As an R&D Engineer Intern, will work within the R&D team, under the guidance and supervision of an experienced R&D Engineer. You will apply your function specific coursework knowledge to a variety of focused hands-on projects. At the same time, you will gain knowledge about Agilent’s industry, infrastructure and products within your assignment. This is developing real world experience in a company that is a leader in the markets it serves. The internship will aim to deepen our knowledge on specific topics related to the development of new products, with peculiar focus on electrical motor controls and electrical motor modelling. The main topic of interest is related to algorithms and technical solutions to drive electrical motors, low & high speed, asynchronous and synchronous

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a motivated individual with the following background:

  • Currently completing OR already graduated (post-degree project) from Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering
  • Good knowledge of motor drawing / circuitry
  • Full proficiency in Italian and at least basic level in English

On a personal level, you are proactive, organized and eager to learn. You also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with many external and internal partners. You enjoy working both autonomously and as part of a team. You show a real can-do attitude and curiosity, with an active approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities
  • Research, gather information and conduct feasibility study about new feature / product
  • Interact and manage relationship between internal R&D team, external supplier and university officials
  • Support New Product Development
  • Work on projects related to electrical motor controls and electrical motor modelling.
