JOB OVERVIEW AND MAIN GOALS

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized R&D Lab Associate to join our Research & Development team. This is an entry-level position, ideal for individuals looking to start their career in the R&D space. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the innovation and application teams by producing lab scale samples, organizing product tastings, analysing product’s shelf life, managing inventory and assisting in day-to-day laboratory operations.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the lab runs smoothly by maintaining accurate records, managing sample storage, and ensuring the timely availability of materials needed for product development and testing. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to learn and contribute to cutting-edge product innovations.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred, a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field, or relevant lab experience.
• Previous experience in a laboratory setting or similar hands-on role is preferred but not required.
• Experience with basic equipment, sample handling, and inventory management is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of basic laboratory safety and quality standards.
• Willingness to learn new techniques, tools, and technologies.

• Inventory Management:
• Maintain an organized inventory of raw materials, ingredients, and lab supplies.
• Ensure accurate stock levels and proactively communicate the need for restocking supplies.
• Track expiration dates of samples and materials to ensure their usability.
• Sample Management:
• Handle the collection, labeling, and storage of lab samples.
• Prepare and distribute samples for various internal teams and needs
• Ensure samples are correctly documented, properly stored, and readily accessible for testing.
• Lab Support:
• Assist the innovation and application teams with lab-related tasks as needed, such as sample preparation and testing.
• Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for experiments and trials.
• Assist in organizing and setting up, including measuring and mixing ingredients or materials for product development.
• Perform shelf-life studies, with tastings and analysis, for new products launched.
• Documentation & Record Keeping:
• Maintain detailed records of lab activities, including inventory logs, sample usage, and other related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company standards for lab documentation and safety protocols.
• Quality Control & Compliance:
• Assist in ensuring that all lab processes are compliant with safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor and help maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab space to meet operational and safety standards.
• Cross-Departmental Support:
• Collaborate with the innovation, application, and operations teams to ensure smooth coordination of daily operations.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and processes for internal stakeholders.
