Job Description Role Overview We are seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead a team of ~10 engineers across firmware, software, and hardware disciplines in the development of advanced industrial servo drive products. This role combines technical leadership, project management, and strategic planning to deliver high-performance, reliable, and standards-compliant servo drive solutions for industrial automation. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers (FW, SW, HW) to achieve product development goals. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Define team objectives, allocate resources, and manage workload priorities. Conduct regular performance reviews and support career development. Project & Technical Management Own the end-to-end development lifecycle for servo drive products: concept, design, prototyping, validation, certification, and release. Ensure compliance with industrial standards (IEC 61800 for drives, IEC 61158 for fieldbus, IEC 62443 for cybersecurity). Drive architecture decisions for embedded firmware, control algorithms, hardware design, and communication interfaces. Oversee integration of industrial fieldbus protocols (EtherCAT, PROFINET, OPC UA FX) and real-time control systems. Manage risk assessment, design reviews, and DFMEA for hardware and software components. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with Product Management to define requirements and roadmap. Coordinate with certification bodies for safety (IEC 61508) and EMC compliance. Process & Quality Implement best practices in development: Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, version control, automated testing. Ensure adherence to coding standards (MISRA-C for FW), hardware design guidelines, and documentation requirements. Monitor KPIs: schedule adherence, defect density, certification pass rates, and product reliability metrics. Qualifications Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or related. Experience: 8+ years in product development for industrial automation or motion control. 3+ years in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary teams. Technical Expertise: Servo drive architecture: motor control algorithms (FOC, PID), power electronics, safety features. Embedded firmware (C/C++, RTOS), industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, PROFINET, OPC UA FX). Software tools: MATLAB/Simulink for control modeling, Git, CI/CD pipelines. Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
