Reporting to senior R&D leadership, this role combines technical depth with people leadership, financial oversight, and cross-regional collaboration. You will act as the bridge between local engineering teams and global counterparts across North America and Asia, ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered on time and within budget. This position requires strong expertise in agile and traditional development methodologies, embedded and web technologies, and the ability to align engineering execution with broader business objectives. You will oversee both web development and embedded software engineering functions, fostering a high-performance culture while maintaining operational excellence and financial discipline. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop web and embedded software engineering teams, fostering technical and professional growth. Recruit top engineering talent, assess capability gaps, and build scalable team structures. Establish KPIs, monitor performance, and support career progression across teams. Own and manage departmental budgets, including forecasting, variance analysis, and resource planning. Submit monthly management reports covering financial performance, utilization, and project status. Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical execution plans. Manage cross-functional dependencies, technical debt, and production issues effectively. Drive adherence to Agile methodologies while maintaining knowledge of waterfall or hardware development lifecycles where required. Collaborate with global R&D leaders, solution architects, QA, and hardware teams for testing, validation, and system integration. Represent regional R&D teams in global status reviews and strategic discussions. Document systems, product relationships, and development standards to support knowledge sharing and long-term scalability. Support broader strategic goals through alignment with business leadership. What Makes You a Great Fit 10+ years of experience in web/software development or technical management, with at least 5 years leading teams directly. Strong technical background in web technologies (Node.js, Python, PHP, JavaScript frameworks) and embedded systems (C++, C#, Java). Experience with cloud infrastructure, RESTful APIs, NoSQL databases, and modern software architectures. Deep understanding of Agile frameworks and familiarity with waterfall or hardware development processes. Proven ability to manage department budgets, forecast resources, and operate within financial constraints. Strong leadership, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Experience working with cross-functional and globally distributed teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Results-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Willingness to travel internationally and collaborate across time zones when needed.
