REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
  • A good understanding of mechanical engineering design – it will be necessary to review various tools and determine how they function.
  • Ability to determine the criticality of features within a component/assembly.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations such as burst/collapse/tensile.
  • An understanding of machining methods.
  • Capable of managing and prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience using solidworks or a similar CAD program.
  • Experience working in compliance with API Q1/ISO 9001.
  • Knowledge of API/ISO specifications governing downhole tools.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Experience working with electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Experience handling the repair/redress of equipment.

Responsibilities

Halliburton Arbroath are looking for a salvage engineer to support the manufacturing plant. The role of the salvage engineer will involve reviewing manufacturing defects encountered either internally or via external vendors and evaluating for acceptance, scrap or rework.
The salvage engineer will be responsible for decisions at assembly and component level across a wide range of completion tools.
