Description
Overview Keysight is at the forefront of technology innovation, delivering breakthroughs and trusted insights in electronic design, simulation, prototyping, test, manufacturing, and optimization. Our ~15,000 employees create world-class solutions in communications, 5G, automotive, energy, quantum, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor markets for customers in over 100 countries. Learn more about what we do. Our award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers. We are offering a research-driven security role who enjoy solving complex technical problems and want to gain hands-on experience in cryptography, high-performance computing, and hardware security. In this role, you will work closely with experienced researchers and engineers on real security research topics, combining theoretical foundations with practical experimentation and development. The focus is on understanding how security implementations behave under stress — and how they can be improved. On a day-to-day basis, you will write code, run experiments, discuss ideas with your mentor, and turn technical findings into clear results. You don’t need to be an expert in everything on day one — strong fundamentals, curiosity, and motivation to learn matter most. Responsibilities Define and implement an end-to-end approach for securing and ensuring the privacy of AI systems in security-critical applications. Investigation of fault injection and side-channel attack vectors against AI models Perform systematic threat analysis of AI systems, considering both adversarial attack vectors and system vulnerabilities. Design, develop, and evaluate countermeasures to enhance the robustness and resilience of AI solutions against hardware attacks. Establish rigorous methodologies for security evaluation of AI systems based on empirical attack and defense studies. Execute hands-on validation, including physical testing of AI systems and protection mechanisms using state-of the art tooling. Develop and contribute to virtual testing environments that simulate real-world deployments and adversarial scenarios. Qualifications Academic or higher professional (technical) education, preferably at MSc level in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Background in Hardware Security, Cryptography, or Information Security, with experience in security evaluation techniques such as Fault Injection (FI), Side-Channel Analysis (SCA), or related methodologies Prior research experience (academic or industrial) or a strong motivation to work in a research-driven environment Interest in performance-oriented development, including hands-on coding and programming (e.g., C/C++, Python, or similar) Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Must have graduated within the last 2 years Eligibility to work in the Netherlands / European Union This is a 1-year initial training contract (ITW) opportunity to transition into a full-time Security Engineer role based on performance.
