About ABB Electrification: https://bit.ly/2ITfAL4 The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: Cooperation with international design teams on development and optimization of new ABB electrification products including switchgears, apparatus and others Carry out FEM simulations based on 2D/3D CAD models on single components as well as large assemblies Design and simulations of multibody (rigid, flexible) systems Carry out Multiphysics simulations covering plastic processing and electrical phenomena Documentation of simulations results and suggestions for design improvement Qualifications for the role: University degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline Experience in FEA (ABAQUS/ NASTRAN/ ANSYS): static/dynamic, modal; ability to simulate large assemblies Experience in multibody simulations of large assemblies Experience in CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Creo/Parametric): solid and surface modeling Fundamentals of strength of materials – ability to perform hand calculations for basic structural members Basic knowledge in area of electrical engineering (required to understand the ABB products specifications and design requirements) Ability to utilize standards e.g. IEC, IEEE, Eurocode Good command of English and strong communication skills Nice to have knowledge of fatigue simulations, basic Python/Fortran for ABAQUS, thermoplastic injection molding simulations, electromechanical device development, and machine learning Building a cleaner, smarter future takes all kinds of minds: the curious, the courageous, and the creative.
