JOB TITLE: R&D SENIOR SCIENTIST/II - COSMETIC INGREDIENTS

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated R&D Senior Scientist to join a leading global company in the cosmetic ingredients industry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in R&D with a particular focus on developing innovative ingredients derived from natural sources for the cosmetic market.
As an R&D Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for supporting the R&D team in creating and advancing new natural ingredients that meet industry needs. You will work closely with other departments, including Applied R&D, QA/QC, Business, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to ensure the successful development of products.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a range of projects, from early-stage concept development to scale-up and technology transfer, while also being involved in scientific analysis and experimentation in the lab.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Chemical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in chemical synthesis.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge in Cosmetic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and GMP procedures.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration.
  • Creative, organized, and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the cosmetic or food ingredients sector is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Languages: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.

Responsibilities
  • Synthesis and Chemistry: Design, synthesize, and analyze ingredients with a focus on chemical synthesis, natural sources, and optimization.
  • Project Management: Manage all stages of R&D projects (planning, execution, monitoring, and closure), ensuring alignment with timelines and quality standards.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Develop proof of concept, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to new methodologies for performance testing.
  • Collaboration: Serve as the technical “go-to” person for R&D, working closely with cross-functional teams in supply chain, production, and quality assurance.
  • Technical Reports and Presentations: Prepare technical reports, update standard operating procedures, and present findings at internal research meetings.
  • Literature and Market Research: Stay up-to-date on scientific literature, patents, and market trends, including competitor ingredient analysis.
  • Scale-Up and Technology Transfer: Coordinate the initial scale-up process for ingredients and support the technology transfer process, ensuring smooth transitions from lab to production.
