Description

As a SPS Programmer, you are primarily in charge in developing PLC-based real-time applications that are used in our customers’ production facilities worldwide. In addition to developing new applications, you will also be responsible for adapting existing software for complex automation systems. You use TwinCat 3 as well as B&R Automation Studio and TIA Portal for older systems. You will be responsible for the specification preparation, the subsequent error-free functionality of the PLC software and the corresponding interfaces (e.g. PC application, machine hardware) as well as their documentation within the agreed time. You will work independently, solution- and goal-oriented, quality-conscious, customer-oriented and creative on the further development of our core products. You will work primarily in close cooperation with the “Team Lead PLC” as well as the service, project management and in some cases directly with end customers.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in the related field
  • Solid PLC-related knowledge and practical application knowledge
  • Experience with the programming language structured text according to IEC 61131-3
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex problems that arise
  • Understanding of technology solutions and operations from a functional, technical as well as from a learning perspective.
  • Demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Good spoken and written German and English, additional languages a plus.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.
Responsibilities
  • Independent development and expansion of PLC programs of Beckhoff systems in coordination with the team leader
  • Definition, creation and documentation (functional descriptions) of PLC software, corresponding in-house tests, validation
  • Structured error analysis, correction of software bugs and, if necessary, development/implementation of customer-specific adaptations after prior approval
  • Independent project work and project management in the field of software development according to recognized software guidelines in cooperation with internal stakeholders
  • Versioning of PLC
  • Technical customer support on site at the customer’s site as well as via remote connection in the event of PLC problems occurring during the Function System Test, Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test.
  • Support in the creation of training material and documentation regarding the PLC software
  • Release planning / testing of PLC software and corresponding hardware
  • Creation of test setups for control-specific tests
  • Release management / documentation / internal communication
