Job Details Job Location: Colorado Premium Greeley - Greeley, CO 80631 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 Hourly Qualifications Summary: This position interfaces with sales, customers and suppliers during ideation and new product development. Coordinates the development of cutting strategies, flavor profiles, shelf-life parameters, and final product specifications for test products. Actively assists in identifying and implementing effective and innovative packaging strategies for value-added products. Works with internal customers to optimize yield, flavor, and performance of existing product lines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities •Collaborates in modifying existing products and developing new ones. Assists in the development of realistic and cost-effective specifications for new products, while championing the optimization of specifications for current products, including the optimization of flavor, texture, and tenderness profiles for existing products to maintain quality and profitability. Hosts and collaborates with visiting research and development teams. Routinely arranges the review of results of raw and cooked product audits. Conducts sensory panels for newly rolled out products and those in development. Preparing product costing based on raw materials, yield, and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products.•Investigates different meat cutting strategies which add value and/or increase yield. Assists in conducting shelf-life studies for new and existing products. Research latest current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts. Selecting raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers. Collaborates with ingredient manufacturers as directed. Provides institutional knowledge and perspective on improving quality control procedures in your own and suppliers' factories, from the raw material stage through to the finished product.•Undertakes long-term projects with other departments, e.g. reducing waste by improving efficiency. Works on packaging innovation and technology. Carrying out process support and development, new product development and quality control. Developing the ability to repeat processes to ensure consistency and safety.•Liaising and cooperating with people and policies in quality assurance, operations, procurement, sales, marketing and distribution, and regulatory compliance. Working with engineering/production to develop solutions to production issues while maintaining food safety. Supports responses to consumer queries when appropriate. Provides opinions on correspondence with customer base regarding product development needs. Education/Experience: •High School or GED preferred but not required Possess functional analytical skills, tactical planning, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
