Job Title: Radar Technical Assistant Location: Warton - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: £36,309+ depending on experience What you’ll be doing Supporting the ECRS (European Common Radar Solution) Mk2 Team Leaders in discharging extant National and International programme demands Supporting the EDR (Equipment Design Responsibility) Shared Service team by providing administrative support to the on-going development of the ECRS Mk2 Supporting the ECRS Lead Engineer in collating information for use in Status Briefing Packs Acting as point of contact for Supplier (Leonardo and Meggitt) documentation (DRLs) submitted to BAES, ensuring they are correctly distributed through Teamcenter and JIRA to the SME review body, ensuring they meet the time constraints of the review Tracking the progress of DRL Submissions from Suppliers and the associated BAES SME review and provide weekly stats, including burndown rate/progress, to the Team Leaders and Lead Engineer for use during Supplier and Customer progress reviews Engaging with EDR engineers in identifying Step 2 documents requiring configuration control in either Sharepoint or Teamcenter Supporting the Lead Engineer and Step 2 Team Leaders in coordinating appropriate EDR and BAES SME attendance at internal and external ECRS Mk2 meetings Managing your own time to fulfil the tasks being discharged to the satisfaction of the requestor Your skills and experiences: Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent experience in a STEM Subject Knowledge of engineering lifecycle Prior experience working within a defence industry Ability to communicate effectively with a broad stakeholder group Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Radar Equipment Design Responsibility team: The Radar EDR team are looking for a Technical Assistant, to work collaboratively with a team of Engineering Professionals and support them in discharging design, integration and qualification tasks on the ECRS Mk2 Radar and Radome Equipment. The Mk2 Radar is a complex equipment comprised of a number of individual Line Replaceable Items (supplied by Leonardo MW), developed in two Steps to meet the needs of the UK Capability Requirements. This exciting role requires a flexible individual with good organisational skills to ensure the engineers and managers within the EDR are supported in the execution of contracts and future bid activities.
