Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance is required to start Travel Requirements: Estimated at 40%. Candidate may be expected to travel on short notice to CONUS and OCONUS locations and must hold and maintain a valid passport. Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Dam Neck) SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Radar Technician. The candidate will support the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for Navigation and Surface Search Radar systems in the areas of technical support, field change installations, performance evaluation, training, technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and underway testing. The selected candidate will also provide assistance to fleet units in maintenance and troubleshooting activities.   Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: * Support engineering efforts related to the design, testing, and analysis of Navigation and Surface Search Radar System upgrades or modifications * Support maintenance, repair, technical documentation, parts procurement, testing, and operation of Navy radar systems * Perform post-installation System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) and provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) for ship’s force personnel * Support training, preventative maintenance, use of technical documentation, parts support, technical reporting, and documentation of maintenance and troubleshooting activities * Support technical documentation upgrades or modifications required as a result of system improvements   Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience: * U.S. Navy “C” School in a related field * Eight (8)+ years of practical experience maintaining and troubleshooting Navy radar systems, including the AN/SPS-73(V)18 radar preferred * At a minimum, experience with SPS-67 or earlier SPS-73 radar variants * Experience supporting underway test and evaluation of Navy radar systems * Familiarity with shipboard safety procedures including electrical tag-outs, working aloft procedures, hazardous material handling, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written * Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment third-party background check which may include verification of any of the following: Employment history; Education and/or certifications; Criminal history; Driving Records; Other records or information related to the candidate’s suitability for the position.   Benefits Offered: WR offers a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Paid Time Off, Company Paid Holidays, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Flexible Spending Account, Employee Assistance Program, and Tuition Reimbursement.    WR is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
