As a member of the Safety, Wellbeing and Resilience Team, you will be responsible for co-ordinating radiation safety (ionising and non-ionising radiation) for the University. You will also have a remit for general health and safety, including the provision of competent advice and performance monitoring. You will lead on the implementation of the radiation safety policy, maintain up to date guidance, manage the work of the external Radiation Protection Adviser, maintain the University’s environmental permits and consents, and registrations issued by the HSE, arrange and deliver training and advice (both radiation and general health and safety) as required.
Educated to degree level or having equivalent relevant experience, you will have a sound understanding of general health and safety management and radiation safety principles gained through practical application in a relevant setting. You will be an excellent communicator and have good IT skills. It is envisaged that you will work towards an appropriate radiation protection qualification and general health and safety qualification if you do not already hold one.
