JOB SUMMARY:
Our experienced team is committed to providing a comprehensive radiation protection services and possesses the mandate of a regulatory role in the province. We deliver a wide range of radiation protection services encompassing ionizing and non-ionizing areas including radiotherapy, diagnostic radiology, radionuclide areas, industry and research and development activities and also present teaching and training programs.
Reporting to the Head of Radiation Protection and Imaging Physics Medical Physics Department, the General Duty Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) will contribute to the X-ray Compliance Team that CCMB provides to MB Health. The RPO will register, inspect, and assess X-ray equipment operating in healthcare, education, and industry within the Province of Manitoba.
The incumbent will follow established radiation safety and PHIA procedures, maintain a database for all X-ray equipment in the province, and participate in emergency preparedness and response activities. This position requires a degree of flexibility in the scheduling and work hours and will require an incumbent to work non-conforming shift patterns.
