This role will start in May 2026 Starting pay rate is $55.16/hr. (non-negotiable) PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Evaluate radiological conditions in the nuclear plant and the implementation of the necessary radiological safety measures as they apply to nuclear plant workers and members of the general public. In addition to meeting minimum qualifications, step progression must be met according to Local 51 Collective Bargaining Agreement to reach the RP Technician classification. Higher classification than RP Technician Trainee. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Support high-risk radiological job coverage (support high-rad / locked high-rad job coverage) Perform dose rate, contamination, and airborne radioactivity surveys. Provide job coverage for work groups to minimize personnel exposure. Control access to radioactive material through labeling and posting. Provide briefings and guidance to plant personnel to prohibit unplanned exposure to radioactive material. On an assigned shift, and acting under prescribed rules and approved practices, measure and keep records of radiation levels, to clean, maintain, and issue respiratory protection equipment, and to perform related work. Due to the nature of the work, individuals may be asked to wear a respirator. Work in Radiologically Controlled Area and/or Contaminated Area. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or GED Ability to pass pre-employment testing (TECH) Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access Ability to transit to work location (Walk, Stairs, Ladders, Use Elevator, etc.) Manually carry, lift or handle material
